On June 10, Daniel Liang, Chairman of Zhejiang Kaihua Moulds, led a delegation to Dalian Polytechnic University for strategic university-enterprise exchanges. Against the backdrop of developing new quality productive forces, the two sides held in-depth practical discussions on key topics including the integrated industry-education-assessment ecosystem of the Industrial College, optimization of joint talent training mechanisms, and deeper upgrades to university-enterprise cooperation.
In the morning, Daniel Liang held high-level talks with Zhang Jiandong, Vice President of Dalian Polytechnic University; Li Peng, Director of the Academic Affairs Office; Pang Guibing, Dean of the School of Mechanical Engineering and Automation; and Wang Mingwei, Dean of the Industrial College. The two sides reached consensus on advancing the Industrial College construction. They agreed to optimize the training program for the Kaihua Class to align with iterative industrial technologies, connect education, talent and industrial chains, and build a collaborative talent cultivation system tailored to industrial demands.
Following the talks, accompanied by Wang Mingwei, and Wen Baogang, Dean of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship College, Daniel Liang’s team toured the Engineering Training Center. The center’s training facilities and scenarios closely match Kaihua Moulds’ actual production sites. Both sides exchanged ideas on integrating real industrial production into coursework to boost students’ hands-on engineering capabilities, laying a solid foundation for deeper joint training and resource sharing.
In the afternoon, Daniel Liang delivered a special lecture titled From Outstanding Engineers to New Quality Productive Forces: Kaihua and Dalian Polytechnic University Build a Talent Hub for Smart Manufacturing to all faculty and students of the School of Mechanical Engineering and Automation. He shared insights on industrial development and talent cultivation based on Kaihua Moulds’ industry-education integration practices and cutting-edge industry trends.
The lecture focused on development trends in smart manufacturing and the mould industry. Drawing on Kaihua’s digital and intelligent transformation cases, Daniel Liang explained the industry’s urgent demand for interdisciplinary and innovative engineering talents amid new quality productive forces, and illustrated the vital value of industry-education integration in talent training. He encouraged students to leverage the university-enterprise platform to deepen professional expertise and accumulate hands-on experience to meet industrial needs. The lecture featured practical content and sparked lively engagement, winning wide recognition from teachers and students.
After the lecture, Daniel Liang and his team held a dedicated forum with undergraduate and postgraduate students of the Class of 2026 who will join Kaihua, as well as students from the 2027 Kaihua Class. The forum was hosted by Geng Xinying, Party Secretary of the School of Mechanical Engineering and Automation, with relevant administrators and professional teachers from two Schools in attendance.
During the forum, students raised questions about curriculum design, internship schedules, job matching and career development. Daniel Liang responded to each student’s concerns one by one, stating that the company will continuously refine customized training programs, improve student support systems, and provide high-quality career development platforms for all participants.
University representatives noted that the two parties have established a replicable, actionable industry-education integration model. Moving forward, the university will integrate interdisciplinary resources, upgrade the training system for the tailored Kaihua Class, and dynamically adjust coursework based on corporate talent demands to align talent training with industrial development. The forum clarified the next steps for joint university-enterprise talent cultivation.
Kaihua Moulds has partnered with Dalian Polytechnic University since 2015. Over the years, both sides have steadily advanced industry-education integration by building training platforms, granting scholarships, launching customized training programs, and conducting joint postgraduate cultivation. The Industrial College cooperation agreement renewed in 2024 has established a mature and sustainable talent development system. This visit summarizes past achievements and shapes strategic development for the new quality productive forces era.
Moving forward, Kaihua Moulds will further deepen university-enterprise collaboration in joint talent cultivation, technological R&D and international business coordination. Both parties aim to build a leading talent hub for smart manufacturing and empower the high-quality development of the global mould industry.
